The Republicans are desperate to erase Obama's offers on the debt ceiling.
They want him to take the blame for 'not compromising'. What a bunch of liars. We need to shout it loud and clear that he did offer them a lot: 3 Trillion a lot (1 Trillion was revenues). Then they say "well it was not on paper". So shout out again that Obama has offered more cuts in his debt ceiling deal than in any of the GOP proposals since. They are the wimps.

That is why the GOP has not agreed to anything Obama offered: they don't want Obama to get the credit with fiscal conservative independants.

1. Any one impressed by these antics is not a fiscal conservative
as the GOP is engaged in reckless radicalism.

2. Time for Obama to tell it like it is:
Republicans are pushing the country into default.

3. I thought he made that pretty clear
with his latest press conference. He certainly called them out.

4. He did.
But since so many here found those proposals so odious, don't expect them to put up any defense against Repubs.

Some here want the President out of office as badly as McConnell seems to. The thing is, only one of those groups is going to be reasonably satisfied with the alternative if the President is ousted. Want to take a guess who that might be?

We can't just let the Tea Party divide the Republican party - the Dems have to keep up!

7. I hope you are right but I still think we need to shout it out loud and long (like right up until
the 2012 election).

8. The Amazing Thing Is This Notion That Democrats/Obama Are Not Controlling The Narrative!
The fact of the matter is that Republicans are lying and they are also delusional. Or, perhaps in their warped view of the world, they really do believe that Democrats are not compromising!

Nonetheless, the news media should call B.S. but doesn't. The right wing media (News Corp affiliates) helps spread the right wing propaganda while the mainstream media portrays a false equivalency where there is no truth or facts, just differences of opinion.

So, the narrative is controlled by the corporate news media, which portrays this as a mere partisan hissyfit, rather than an unprecedented act of economic terrorism by the party controlling the House of Representatives.

9. Thank you for adding this. When I said democrats should say it loud and long
I was assuming they would get no help from the MSM. Thank you for pointing this out.

13. This has been really bugging me. They lie! They lie!
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 07:06 AM by Tennessee Gal
Boehner and others get on national television and spout the line that Democrats have proposed nothing. They have no plan. It's a total lie. Obama and the Democratic leadership met with them daily for several days and made all kinds of proposals. Boehner and Cantor walked out!
