Excellent analysts of the current Wall Street charade.

And why "liberal" presidents and congresses around the world are being tasked to produce the right-wing reforms that the right wing can't produce. Neoliberal "liberals" are hardly limited to the US. It's a global shock doctrine, not one localized to the US.

1. It makes sense. Never in my life would I have believed this could happen.
*Preparing* us for the end of fossil fuel, dramatic changes in weather, dwindling water supply, etc. If only Al Gore ... oh well ...

5. I don't think political personages can save us. These liberal pols are hired to do rightwing bidding
It's a systemic problem. We need to start building an opposition party with a competent platform and leaders who push our agenda. In other words we need a left wing party that takes it's ideas and it's constituency as seriously as the Republicans do. The Democrats are so wishy-washy I have no idea anymore what they represent or what they stand for.

6. Oh, I agree!
It's just that had Bush v. Gore gone the other way, we may have been ten years into setting up a green economy ... just a thought ...

2. ''It is a con.''
The "Money is more important than people" crowd already have a party. It's call the Republican Party.

The "People are more important than money" crowd used to have a party. It was called the Democratic Party.

Ownership must be up for grabs. Oops. I said a funny. When it comes to money, nothing is left to chance -- 'specially in a con game.

9. Wait a minute, isn't Hudson one of the many journalists trashed here abouts?
for writing something negative about you know who?

How can he possibly write anything good. Or that doesn't immediately get trashed by the OTLers?

Bring on Ariana, Jane, et al.

16. Thanks but I'm not holding my breath. Unless this site becomes a home of democratic principles and
not the home of the undemocratic party in power that ignores the people and refuses to change, it's going to be difficult to have meaningful discussions. Basically, those who want to fight the Republicans by adopting their platform to strangle thus new thing called the Tea Party are at absolute odds with the people who actually hold the values of the old Dem party.

My 70 year old father was a Democrat for over 50 years, was nearly in love with Obama and now considers the Democratic Party to be defunct and is wishing there was another option. An honest discussion of the collusion of the Democratic Party with the Republicans is not possible here. The irony that those who foam at the mouth most about Republicans are also the champions of 'bipartisanship' goes unaddressed.

18. Interesting, saw an investment guy on Asia Squawk Thursday
night & he practically said same thing: he said there is no longer any leadership in the West that will fight back against the austerity measures being imposed, austerity measures that will cripple the economies of the West. He predicted the US & Europe are headed for extremely lengthy recessions like Japan endured.
