White House says supports bill lifting debt limit to 2013
Source: Reuters/Raw Story

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Saturday it "strongly supports" a bill being considered in the House of Representatives that incorporates both Democratic and Republican ideas and would raise the debt limit to early 2013.

"It is imperative that the United States not default on the nation's obligations," the Obama administration said in a policy statement. "If the bill were presented to the president, his senior advisors would recommend that he sign it."

The bill would require two-thirds approval in the Republican-controlled House to pass.

4. Obama has the power to sign an executive order lifting the ceiling
(per the 14th amendment), merely authorization for Congress to borrow money (per Section 8)

5. Could Obama be any LESS transparent?
Notice this White House announcement doesn't tell us thing one about what is in this bill. Given Obama's prior preferences, one expects it will both overtly and covertly screw over social security/medicare/medicaid, while keeping the wars going, supporting Wall Street's "Greed Agenda", and not charging fair taxes for the uber-wealthy or corporate religion.
As other commentors in the link stated:

Keep us plebes dumb and in the dark. It's the third way!

....which means that 90% of us will be thrown under the bus again, except that there will probably soon be no public transportation so we'll be thrown into the path of corporate jets, yachts, limos or under the tanks of the military that'll be sent out to keep the plebes in-line in the brave new world of the U.S. plutocracy.

McLean, Virginia -- Once again, he's late to the party.
