McConnell says 'Our country will not default
for the first time in history".

Boehner continues to lie - there was no agreement.

5. And the House, which Democrats do not control
will begin Impeachment hearings as soon as they can or better, right during the primaries. Why is it folks on DU keep dismissing this?

7. they can try
but do you think they'll really succeed? do you think the american people will side with them when president obama single-handedly saves the US economy from defaulting? plus...never mind the spectre of impeaching two democratic presidents in a row. the public will turn against the repubs.

13. Yes they will succeed
because the House is under repuke control (hint, they don't need 2/3rds to "impeach").

What won't happen next is that a conviction in the Senate would NOT occur since the Democrats control that chamber. But the historical record would still show an impeachment of this President - even if not valid because the repuke party is peopled with psychopaths.

Why would you advocate feeding the media who are chomping at the bits for such a tabloid frenzy in the middle of an election? And anyone who would compare a black President and all the baggage that goes along with that in terms of unprecedented racism in the form of disgraceful disrespect for the office (which is why we are where we are today) vs a Clinton, leaves out the historical background of the U.S., and how it has and will continue to shape this country's future. Clinton barely squeaked in and then sadly went on to destroy Glass-Steagall as a parting shot, but he got in and they and the media want to make sure that this President doesn't. They are willing to cut off their heads to spite their bodies.

The public is asleep and now that football season is about to start, I fear that they will continue to ignore the 3-ring circus in Washington and will be no help.

10. It should carry some heft that the only Democrat to be impeached
then elected again says he'd invoke the 14th. Of course, Bill is an excellent politician, able to act rather than just react. Clinton won twice, got impeached once. Keeps the goopers busy.

3. They'll take it past the deadline
to make a crazy point and then maybe consider trying to come up with something.... They already went through similar nonsense with the FY2011 appropriations.

He is leading the crazy with Boehner, Cantor, DeMint and Paul.

8. It sort of sounds like they are going back to the deal they almost made last weekend.
The interesting part is that Boener is meeting with a bunch moderate Rs now.

9. I think a deal will come up real quick
Harry and Nancy are at the WH and he said they had been talking to Obama and Biden in the last hour. So if Obama is willing to give them what they want, and I think he has an indication that Obama will, then he is right our country will not default. Now we just wait for the screwing.

12. They aren't allowed to and my guess is many think the charade has gone on too long
but enough of the heavy hitters want to use the moment to make as much hay as they can and are willing to push it hard.

17. The fear must be ratcheted up to the highest levels they possibly can before the inevitable
and complete betrayal comes to us wrapped in a package using desperation ribbons and apocalypse-avoiding glitter.

What. A. Fucking. Show.

Bravo!!
