I'm betting that lots of us posting here this afternoon are also watching MSNBC |
|
As you watch, bear in mind who begat them and who owns them now.
Bear in mind that, as their culture was developing, they were the pet division of Jack Welch.
Bear in mind that they are now owned by Comcast, who is as hard right as Fox.
Please keep your bullshit deflectors arrayed. MSNBC is not your friend, even as they bring you some weekday evening personalities that you like.

I started to watch it and then thought - nah, I'll turn to the cooking shows and see happy people eating good food instead.

4. I tried watching today but changed the channel. |
|
I have been watching all week, nothing seems to change.
We haved a weak or bought off President, the Republicans are calling the shots.
Our only hope is that the Democrats will grow a pair finally, after all the phone calls.
I am taking the weekend off and watching something else.
I will be reading DU, just tell me what is going on.

Why would you watch that stuff? Not many people do. Tiny audience they have, same for all of 'cable news'.

|
The second half has nothing of interest.

13. So We'd Be Better Off w/o MSNBC? |
|
I don't think so.
I don't want to go back to the time when only FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Really, etc....were exclusive on the AM dial.
Oh no, I am ever so grateful for Air America for getting the ball rolling on the radio dial. I'm grateful to Keith Olbermann for getting management to lean left and for getting Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz on TV.
Jack Welch is a fucker - Lawrence O'Donnell isn't, he went against NBC during the whole Trump bullshit.
Chris Matthews has his moments, but the guy is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to American history.

I see it's five hours since you posted this reply. I didn't watch anything today. Just very curious, so I'm looking on DU.
Thanks.

20. Hi there, emcguffie =) What I'm saying is that you can read exactly what |
|
to expect by listening very carefully the progression of the propaganda on both MSNBC and CNN.
The "set-up" is the preparing of the audience for a last-minute deal (which has probably been written over the past year or longer, IMO) that the president will have not choice but to sign in order to head off a default.
Once that deal is done and approved be both houses, the rhetoric on MSNBC and CNN will then change to the spin cycle, spinning off the bad news coming out of the bill, like cuts to Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare. That last being the entire goal all along.
Hope that clears it up for you, :) :hi:

21. And hello to you, too. |
|
Thanks.
Yes, I'm basically aware that they do that, although I seem to be much more sensitive to when they are setting the stage to steal an election. I see that coming way out in advance. Usually when the polls suddenly change, and seem to be out of touch with reality. But they keep beating that drum until it either becomes reality or at the very least is accepted as reality.
In this instance, I was wondering what specifically you thought they were setting up. I guess to cut SS and Medicare, because it is down to the wire, yes?
I'm sorry it took me so long to notice this. It is now Monday, and I did not watch any of this yesterday. I'm too demoralized and anxious about it. So I don't really know what's going on, except I gather that basically Obama capitulated, and we're back to the Super Congress. I think I'll go back to Netflix... I just can't bear it. It's just about impossible to believe what is actually going on.
Thanks for answering.
