are not uncommon here on DU. One wonders why there is now agreement with Ms Boxer over an allegiance pledge to a flag.

something like, "We have to do what's right for the country... NOT what's right for Grover Norquist" just doesn't quite have the same je ne sais quoi as the "pledge allegiance to the flag" quote does... ya think?

4. The plegde is nothing. This is what is more important than ANY pledge

The oath of office for members of Congress:
