2. SHe has been quite reasonable in the past
but right now I am sure she is not a fan of the tea party crazies.

Listeninig while browsing here. So far, nice, moderate speech. She almost quoted Obama in saying that compromise is not a dirty word.

3. I like where she is going with the need for certainty
Sounds like she is on board for a 2013 plan, unless she is about to head in another direction?

7. I find her to be reasuring
I've not paid any attention to her before but I will from now on. She's pretty much telling it like it is. Bravo for her.

13. I've heard her in committees a few times
rather boring, but never found her to be offensive. Right now is by far the best Lisa M. I heard.

6. She is avoiding saying anything critical of the repukes, so she might as well be
expelling a river of bullshit.

10. Not true
It's a thoughtful speech, and she clearly is on board. She does not have to insult her own side to be decent.

14. She is one of the 4 who didn't sign the 'refusal to vote' letter
Along with Scott (MA), Snowe and Collins (ME)

17. I know, so I am not surpised
at the reasonableness of her speech. And I also remember what she went through last year to get back into the Senate.

19. I listened and felt she urged compromise but she is not critical of the outrage being carried out
Clearly she's one of the good ones, but that's not enough when we're about to go over the edge

23. After the last elections when the R's sold her out for Jo(k)e Miller she pretty much
became an Independent.

11. "Vote at 1am. How Dignified" (dripping with sarcasm)
"What body gathers in the dark of night for a vote?"

:applause:

12. The reason they have to vote at 1am is because of the GOP!
If the GOP would allow an up and down vote without the BS cloture filibustering - then they would not have to vote at 1am.

18. She's really more of an independent now...
Got burned by the teabaggers and is probably enjoying tweaking them at every opportunity.

She sounds more reasonable than most Republicans but when you really think about her little floor speech, she is actually saying a whole lot of nothing.

25. It wasn't just the teabaggers who burned her.
Her party threw her under the bus, too. I'm surprised she is still a member, considering they deserted her.

20. What good does a floor speech do?
Honest question.

Considering the stakes, being able to give a little speech doesn't seem that serious.

26. Ah.....so it doesn't actually DO much at all?
I don't get why they're all wasting time pontificating. Is it to give the leaders time to meet with the Pres. ? I know they want to be on record but in terms of actual action it seems..... meh.

24. I respect her
She identifies as a R but she is pretty reasonable.
There are people who belong to their party out of tradition. That's where we get our blue dogs.
