Likely none of us know, but what do you think? Where did this debt strategy come from?

The Heritage Foundation?

Direct from the Koch brothers?

What do you think? Who plotted this out and gamed it?

3. Grover the Nordquist
Nordquotes:

"I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub."

"Cutting the government in half in one generation is both an ambitious and reasonable goal. If we work hard we will accomplish this and more by 2025. Then the conservative movement can set a new goal. I have a recommendation: To cut government in half again by 2050"

Grover Nordquist holds no office, yet he seems to be the boss of the Republicans.
Apparently a bunch of Senate and Congressional them pledged to Grover Nordquist that they would not , no way, no how impose new, or new old taxes.

He's a zealot.

4. It's pretty clear that there has been a decades long campaign..

by neoliberal kleptocrats on the left and right to attack and loot the public sector and destroy the modest protections and benefits that government provides to the productive classes.

This comes from a fundamentally flawed concept of economics. I think they truly believe it's a zero sum game and that any gains for the middle class mean losses to them.

8. Probably it was some country club golf retreat
with the Club for Growth, Norquist, the Chamber of Commerce, Koch brothers, maybe a Murdoch, Dick Armey, some Saudi royalty, and Goldman Sachs.

Betcha I'm close. Then they probably sent out the playbook to Limbaugh, Buchanan, and some Religious Right honcho. Bachmann and/or Cantor.

9. I don't think it is a single person or entity
As most have already figured out, this is merely theater to provide political cover to each party's "base." The already-agreed-upon outcome is the looting of the social security trust fund and dismantling the social safety net.

The network of right-wing think tanks like Heritage, all of whom are funded by the richest 50 families in the country (like the Kochs) as well as foreign nationals and governments, set the tone and backdrop with their never-ending supply of "experts" they rotate throughout the RW media wurlitzer we laughingly refer to as "news media."

This is the way the US gets "IMF-ed." Unlike other countries where it's more transparent and obvious, resulting in riots in the streets, the US does it Hollywood-style, complete with scripts, roles and a story arc.

11. Remember that meeting between the Koch brothers
and who's who of the movement conservative movement? Some of them were governors, some of them were TParties? You know the one in Palm Springs? I suspect that is where it took final form. It took form before the election, but that was just initial. I mean Heritage, as crazy as they are, are still tied to WS,

but Lawrence O'Donnel was talking about how he predicted it and even wrote a West Wing episode about it.
