i think the teahadists are gunning for a government shutdown like in 1995. |
|
i think they want the symbolism of having screwed the system a bit. i think they figure that obama will make the "important" payments but delay a few payments to suppliers or employees or contractors or shut down a few buildings and after a few days they'll come to an agreement.
whatever the actual agreement may be, they'll claim victory on account of standing strong and forcing obama's hand. whatever the state or course of the actual negotiations, they can portray this as a tough negotiating tactic.
and if this creates problems for the government, so much the better as far as they're concerned -- this is obama's government and they see their job as throwing roadblocks in his path.
my prediction -- some payments missed and a quick resolution after a few days.

1. I think they want to bring the government to its knees |
|
because in their politically simplistic world--it will destroy the Democrats and leave the country in their hands to do with what they will.
They are DEMANDING a default.
They are already holding the republican branch of the nutsack hostage...and now they want to hold the entire country hostage.

They truly want to destroy the government of the United States except for the military and the police/prison industrial complex. You shoot a rabid dog. What you do with these rabid humans I do not know. Well, I do, but the mods wouldn't let me say it.
