1. How about an "other" option? |
|
Right now, it looks like he and the Republicans are having a race to see who can shoot themselves in the foot the fastest. It's all going to come down to who's alienated more voters.

2. What choice do we have? |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 10:17 PM by caty
If we vote Republican, and they get anymore control over the country, we might as well stock up on cat food for our dinner when they weaken our Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. If we don't vote, we get what we deserve and lose the right to complain about anything that happens.
All I can do is vote. If I can't vote for a Democratic man or woman that I can have faith in, I vote for the Democratic Party platform. Hopefully we can win the Congress back and gain back some of the ground we have lost. If we can get a big enough majority in the house and senate, perhaps we can set things right with some new bills or even repeal some bad bills. But we are royally screwed if the GOP and the teabaggers get any more control over us than they already have.
We HAVE to VOTE a straight Democratic ticket every time we walk into that voting booth.

9. He is dampening the enthusiasm of many voters he had won over |
|
He has pissed off many in his base. Many will vote for to keep out the GOP. But the enthusiasm factor has had had major cold water splashed on it. And that IS important in a tight race.
But worse, for his re-election chances, I think he has dampened many of the non-partisan voters he had won over. He has added to the "They're all the same" factor, and the cynicism will either cause them not to vote, or go for the "new guy or woman" the GOP puts up.

11. Where is the "it's too soon to tell" option? |

If you compare historic polls of Presidents who were re-elected, he's doing about as well as others, at this stage in the game.
