"I've had a snootful of that shit!" - quote of the season
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 10:45 PM by MannyGoldstein
That's a http://www.thenation.com/blog/161208/afls-trumka-pols-selling-out-workers-ive-had-snootful-st">quote from last month by Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO. It refers to the behavior of elected Democrats towards their base.

“For too long, we’ve been left after Election Day holding a canceled check, waving it about—‘Remember us? Remember us? Remember us?’—asking someone to pay a little attention to us,” recalled Trumka, who like many union leaders was frustrated with the failure of the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress to pass the Employee Free Choice Act and other needed labor law reforms. “Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a snootful of that shit!

Can't get that quote out of my mind the last few weeks.

3. More like an earful of that shit
if he actually was talking about the freedom of speech sound of the larger canceled check from the chamber of commerce that was more effective a bribe.

And the louder the shouting match, the more the media makes to speak up too.

What a fucked up political system we are now saddled with.

7. Well Richard, you're group is the biggest
labor group out there. Make good on your threat of a few months ago and start to put together a Progressive Workers Party. It's going to take a big organization to get on the ballot in all 50 states and you're it. JUST DO IT! You can endorse Dems when appropriate and run your own candidates when necessary.
