SF: Some good news for a change. Visitacion Valley gets a new library

Visitacion Valley's new library may be just a couple of blocks from its old one, but their differences set them a world apart.

The old building at 45 Leland Ave. was a leased space, cramped and prone to blending in with the surrounding storefronts.

In contrast, the brand-new library - up the street at 201 Leland Ave. - is nearly 10,000 square feet, more than four times the old branch's size. It boasts, among other features, landscaped outdoor courtyards, a community room and a bigger collection.
