Residents in Ventnor are speaking out after claiming they found out late about a sewage leak and E.coli contamination in the local waterways.

"While they officially knew about this Wednesday, they didn't announce until after City Hall closed on Friday, and I know that there were complaints coming at least a week before that," said Alford.

Many of the residents said their main concern was learning about the water problems for the safety of the community.

"I spoke to a woman that is 8 months pregnant," said Alford. "She swims in this water everyday with her 1-year old daughter. I mean they are going to have a 'Go Green' parade in a week highlighting green environment and they have sewage leaking in the water," she said.
