Even when the debt ceiling is raised the Climate will still be worsening and the
oceans will still be dying. There is, really, no where to run or hide from depression. Do any of the rest of you find yourselves being drawn to a fantasy world? Some electronic media that just lets you divorce yourself from our grim reality. Now don't be angry but I feel that DU, to a limited degree, is a fantasy world. Music...non-reality. Games....really non-real. Movies....fantasy. TV shows....fantasy. Fiction reading....fantasy. I'm feeling myself being drawn more and more to electronic representations of fantasy, especially from my youth, etc. Anyone else?

4. good point
we should be having more conversations about this...

the whole debacle is a distraction, smoke & mirrors to convince you that the PTB have any control over the unraveling that is happening

economy be damned, it won't change my poverty on the ground anytime soon. ...and the environment and peak oil stuff is definitely coming down the pike to be reckoned with very soon.

Instead of escaping...I find i am doing more in my own little community, trying to forge the bonds of tribe and family so that as the shit continues to hit the fan, i have people who i can rely on and who will rely on me...

...In the meantime, ya, i AM drinking more and toking more in the evenings, sleep doesn't come easy.

5. What's the big deal?
The rich can either hide in their bunker or be raptured with their money.

The rest of us? Well, so say TPTB, "Sucks to be you!"

6. No. Each day is a gift.
I get to choose what I do with it. Some things really suck, but for the most part, life is good. Checking out won't make anything better.
