The absolutely most important thing next year
Is to keep the Senate and/or Take the house. It is clear Obama will go along with 90% of whatever the House or Senate proposes. Even if he loses the new Prez won't be able to do much with this sort of crap going on, IF we have control of congress. But I really fear what will happen if Obama does get in, but we lose the Senate and he deals with an all republican Congress. I hope our Congresscritters realize they are on their own with this guy.

2. Given that the 2012 tranche of the Senate is mostly Democrats,...
...holding into any lead in the Senate is going to be
very tough, even before we consider whether the
incoming Republican President has "coat-tails".

3. Yes, it will be tough to hold the Senate given Dems have twice the seats to defend
as do the Republicans.

Not having either the House or the Senate will make it even more vital for Democrats to hold the White House. I live in Wisconsin and believe me, none of us would want to live in a country where the Republicans totally control the federal government. They will move quickly to do what they have done here and in other states.

5. If We Maintain The Senate And Take Back The House And Have Obama In.....
a second term - we should be in a real, real good position - to effect some real positive change in the way things are run. I think Obama will act totally different in a second term because he doesn't have to run again and probably wouldn't care what the implications of some of his actions will be with the Corporations, banksters and Wall St.

If the economy then does change for the good and things look like they are shaping up - he can set up the Dems for a win in 2016 - proving the way the Dems do things is better than what the Repugs have been selling all these years.

If that happens it will be the end of the Repug party as we know it. It should also silence many of those that follow the Teabaggers.

It will be the end of Reagonomics, trickle down, tax breaks for the wealthy, etc, etc, etc and all those stupid lies that the Repugs have been trying to sell. They won't have a leg to stand on if Obama and the Dems can turn this thing around.

This is what we'll have to push for. Hell - he might even get a chance to straighten out the Supreme Court.

6. Right now that's not looking too likely
The economy is going to be crap in 2012, there will be at least one more crisis (the federal budget) that will give the t-baggers even more to play with, if we have this 'supercongress' that cuts SS and medicare that is still another thing people are going to hate. Given the RW control of the MSM, People are going to be told constantly that 'Obama is a failure" and "spending is out of control". I just don't see good coming from that. Depressing day/week/month
