My latest conspiracy theory is that the right wingers became impatient waiting for the Second Coming and the Apocalypse. They came to the conclusion that if they started the Tribulation Jesus would slap his forehead and say "Doh! Sorry guys, I forgot. I'll be right there."

in the deep south. I've lived here most of my life - my little knot of liberals can't seem to change the folks around us, but we are who we are.

Want to try being an out lesbian in the Deep South and having a fairly social life? It's anything but easy, but I hope I change people. I'm getting pretty discouraged, however, seeing this. them and they are YEARNING for Armageddon. In fact when I tried to tell one of them that, while I am Christian, I do not believe Christ will return in the next year, I got an icy stare and lots of anger.
