Hey, so much for self-determination and all that rot, eh what?
By what right do we (meaning in this case the British) get to determine who among the surviving rebels are "worthy" of holding sway should they succeed in getting rid of Qaddafi? Talk about high-handedness...
The UK has recognised the rebels as the legitimate government, but Mr Fox said care was still needed.
"The aim will have to be... to ensure that (militants) are marginalised."
Rebel military commander General Abdel Fattah Younes was found dead on Friday, and rebel minister Ali Tarhouni said he was killed by members of the Obaida Ibn Jarrah Brigade, which is an Islamist group.
BBCHey, one person's militant is another person's freedom fighter and another person's divine messenger from an all-powerful God who must dominate everything. Who's to say who's non-militant enough to stay? Personally, I suggest the petro-test: ask them if they'll give us unlimited access to oilfields with permanent leases at a bargain rate; this, like dunking witches, will clearly divine who's "good" and who's "bad".
Just a thought...
