Just watched V for Vendetta again... and parts of it seemed... PROPHETIC

There were parts describing a civil war in the USA, of death and disease running rampant, and describing the USA as a 'leper colony'...

as I watched this, I shuddered a little bit knowing how true those words will be in a few years.

Make no mistake, we as a country are inevitably walking down the path towards civil war. Our political parties are further apart ideologically than they've ever been. Propaganda, from both sides of the isle, keep driving the wedge deeper and deeper, and those who try to maintain a centrist, moderate role seem to be growing fewer and far between. The voice of reason is becoming drowned out by the roar of division and 'us vs. them' thinking.

In this political arena, where the words 'compromise' and 'bi partisan' are dirty words, in this political atmosphere where we stake our territory so far out to the fringes that we can no longer hear or even want to hear the other sides point of view... in this country, we're a mere spark away from complete self destruction.

That self destruction is likely to take place at some point, probably in the near future, unless something happens to bring reason and truth back into the room.

To be honest, I think it'll happen far sooner than anyone thinks, and I think that the looming downgrade will be the spark that ignites the flames.

Let the Republicans take control of everything, like they have here in Wisconsin, and they will move quickly to bring the hammer down. If it comes to any kind of civil unrest and the Republicans are in power they will make it a bloodbath and use it as an excuse to solidify their power.

So with Republicans in power, civil unrest, throw in some terrorism along with a disease epidemic and we would not be far from what happened in V, but without the Hollywood happy ending.
