I don't think it was in any way akin to the thought on DU or Daily Kos.

And the significant fact is that, even though Bush took us into an illegal war and caused so many deaths, even though he is despised by so many, the worst that has ever happened to him is to have peace activists camp out near his ranch in Texas. That's the worst.

Oh, yes, and many of us ask that he be charged and indicted for various crimes such as illegal eavesdropping and torturing prisoners and starting an illegal war for no reason other than to take control of a foreign country.

This shows you that Limbaugh and others on the right don't see the difference between taking a gun to a political event, a gun that can kill, and taking a pair of handcuffs to a political event. (Not that I or most DUers have ever taken handcuffs anywhere.) Carrying a gun has real consequences as we have seen in the Giffords attack. Carrying handcuffs is merely symbolic.

Also, publishing opinions is just symbolic. Calling for violent action and using violent metaphors is still symbolic but begins to move away from the symbolic into the action category. Violent metaphors are still protected by the First Amendment, but it surely is not too much to ask people to tone down their rhetoric for the sake of safety and peace.

The meddage said that Christina Taylor green's death was "ok." Tina King equated the little girl with Hitler, making her murder acceptable in Tina King's eyes.

Can you imagine if the grandfather read this? The parents of that dead baby girl? Goddamn! I thought, when I read that : this is what these people think about the children of my children! No big deal if you kill our children and grandhildren, Tina King?
