So much for majority rule!

More evidence we live in a land "ruled" by corporations, and those in bed with them.

A recent CNN/ORC International Poll reveals a growing public exasperation and demand for compromise. Sixty-four percent of respondents to a July 18-20 survey preferred a deal with a mix of spending cuts and tax increases. Only 34% preferred a debt reduction plan based solely on spending reductions.

From today's news here: http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/08/01/debt.talks/index.html?iref=BN1&hpt=hp_t1

5. Seriously
We don't matter until it's time to vote, and even then not much more important than before. We're just told we are important, and we eagerly believe it.
Then the election is over and we find out, once again, that we don't matter. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

2. That's not good economics either.
The Third Way is winning hearts and minds. Cuts do not help a down economy with high unemployment.

3. Agreed - but who among our leaders are winning any hearts...

Or minds!?

I wish Russ Feingold would run for office again. Gawd, we need more passionate and courageous progressives on the Hill. Gotta add a shout out for Dennis Kucinich too.

8. It is truely a shame he is on the sidelines though he is still fighting.
I really hope he does run again. He had a strong presence.

7. Half of them don't vote.
Engaged, angry, committed minorities roll apathetic majorities all the time in politics.
