Ughhh...this corporate dumpster on Hardball from CNBC
:puke: Maria Bartiromo

Paraphrased: Our companies are in a good position (making record profits)--they have "trimmed" their fat and running a lean ship (they have fired everyone and are working the others to death) ..corporations have lots of money that they are sitting on until regulation and market uncertainty even out (until they gut ALL regulation and pay no taxes).

This just makes me sick...

3. Yep. She told Cramer the other day that asking to raise taxes on the wealthy
was portraying them as being evil.

So, is the middle class inherently evil? Is that why we're asked to shoulder the brunt of paying higher tax rates than those paid by the rich?

5. Why would they hire? There's no demand.
Why would you hire someone when you aren't going to expand your business?

That's the entire point of government stimulus. They can hire and expand when it makes absolutely no economic sense to do so. Those extra jobs boost demand, causing businesses to expand, which then causes businesses to hire more people.

6. If they aren't going to hire--which I don't think they will either
then WHY are we giving OUR money to them to do something they aren't going to do anyway???

16. Well, if it's literally your money, it's because you want the goods they sell.
If you're talking about dumb things like tax breaks, it's because tax breaks are about the only way they can improve their profits - they can't grow so their lobbyists are trying to reduce taxes.

12. We are the job creators.
Ordinary Americans with cash in their pockets are the engine of any consumer driven economy - not billionaires. Demand drives our economy forward, not supply. It's a wonder that these MBA Einsteins can't see the connection between massive layoffs and the lack of consumer spending. The workers are also the consumers. When you fire them, they stop spending. Corporations have two trillion dollars of cash on hand and personally I hope they choke on it.
