Being a member of DU is a privilege and a gift, because it leads to growth, in my experience.

As difficult as it can be to get politically involved, it is a gift to meet people like those on DU who are so informed, articulate, eloquent and convincing--people I would (sadly) never ordinarily meet in my own town, but whose posts are infused with insight and knowledge.

Thank you, DU, and all DU members. I probably sound like a broken record, as this is my second "Thank You" this month, but this place is really important to me, and the great intelligence of the posters is a gift, because your information is not easily obtainable, and because it is given with grace and kindness, and nobody has ever ridiculed me because I didn't know something they knew.

That means a lot to people like me, who have pretty low self esteem.

I was working a 12 hour shift when the shooting happened. Was unable to get at any details or news, it was agony. When I finally had a few minutes to find out what the hell was going on, I went to DU first. I knew I would find the latest and the best. You are all amazing. Thank you all.
