I was enraged at Sarah Palin and I'm sorry...
After the shooting in Tuscon Sarah Palin issued a statement expressing sympathy. I was enraged and posted a vitriolic thread about it...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=439&topic_id=139203

This isn't about them and their hate. It's not about their rhetoric. We already know all about it.

This is about how I allowed my emotions to take over and I reacted in a way that is unacceptable no matter how justified my fury might have been.

If I was personally meeting Sarah Palin, I would never have reacted in such a way. I guess it's easy to let the most base emotions take over when I'm looking at a computer screen rather than another person.

I'm better than this.

I am apologizing to anyone who was offended at my words and reactions...including Sarah Palin. I don't like her one bit, but what I said was wrong.

1. Although they are from Star Wars I truly believe these words
:Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” Yoda
If we let fear control our lives, like many of the right wingers do, we will have no lives to speak of because we will dedicate ourselves to getting rid of those things we fear. In their case is liberals, gays, unions, and so on and so on.

2. No need to apologize
You have a right to be angry. We all do. If you feel bad about how you expressed your anger, however, I understand.

That said, I had no problem at all with your post.

3. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Considering what happened and Palin's hateful, violent rhetoric, it's perfectly normal to react the way you did.

If I were to 'meet' her, I'd pretend she didn't exist. I wouldn't even acknowledge her presence. I'd like to see that happen on DU and with the media so that some day not too far from now, she is a nobody.

I won't even write what I was thinking about her after the shooting.

4. No need to apologize. IMHO she deserves much harsher words than yours.

7. She had it COMING.

Sorry if that isn't 'evolved'...

Your words were pretty tame. You didn't call for violence against her. Considering the harm she has caused, a swear rant is pretty mild stuff.

You don't owe her an apology in my book.

8. I think your apology is unnecessary and guilt totally unwarranted.
Frankly...

She has NEVER apologized for any of her horrendous incitement language. That statement was a CYA after having her F/B editor (Rebecca Mansour) frantically take down her Congressional gunsight map.

I don't doubt you are a good person, but wonder why you would be so concerned with Paln at this point. She really doesn't deserve the care and concern. No one wishes her harm, but plenty of us wish her to develop a friggin' CONSCIENCE and act like a decent human being.

10. I'm not concerned with her in the least...
This was about my reaction and how I lost control. It was wrong of me to react in such a way. As I said...I am better than that. Thanks:)

15. What I said had nothing to with standing up and fighting...
It was to denigrate. It was to express my outright hatred in the most graphic terms. I was not standing up or fighting for anything. I just let my emotions take control.

13. You're a bigger person because you were man/woman enough to admit your error.
Palin, Beck, Limbaugh...they will never apologize.

I've watch Ed, Rachel, and Keith and they all prefaced their comments with taking ownership of any rhetoric that may have caused harm.
