5. "Kill 'em all, along with the socialists, commies and homos" |
|
Seriously, do you really have to ask?
The problem is, aside from being the more humane solution, it's impossible to convince them that it would be less expensive to treat these issues IN THE COMMUNITY than to allow them to escalate to the point where we have incidents such as this.
With privatization, the cost of incarceration has gone from ~$40K/year to over $70K/year per inmate, and the costs of each and every death penalty case (with appeals), on average, is expected to rise to over $1 million per case.
It's all about the vengeance, no matter the cost.

6. The essence of the post is if they think he is psychotic, he belongs in a mental institution |
|
But they don't usually feel that way do they.

7. Reagan emptied the mental hospitals. So death row would be their choice. |
|
Now that the opportunity has been lost to execute him at the scene.

14. Well, if you want to talk about unprincipled hypocrisy: |
|
Guns and ammo.
Defenders of rights or capricious terminators?
Both?
Misuse justified by proper use?
Rational tool or reckless love affair?

8. He should be extended the same courtesy that he showed to others. |
|
Take the punk out behind the courthouse, drop him to his knees, and lay some iron to the back of his head. Cheap & effective. I see no reason to wast anymore taxpayer money on him.

16. That is an interesting question |
|
Do they see him as mentally ill and hence, not representing them. Therefore he should go to a psych institution.
Or do they see him as doing what they wish they could do, acting for them and therefore should go to prison/death row?
Do you mean out loud or in their little minds?
