They're at it again---creating reality.
"---when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."---attributed to Karl Rove, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality-based_community

Some examples of the "reality" the corporate party is currently trying to create:

"Both sides need to tone down their violent political rhetoric".

"Liberals comments about Bush were just as threatening, maybe more so. They are being hypocritical when they criticize conservatives!"

"Leave it to unprincipled liberals to politicize this tragedy!"

"This shooter was a deranged leftist who attacked a moderate Democrat Congresswoman and a Republican judge."

"Those were NOT 'bulls eyes' on that map!"

Please, folks---don't worry about being impolite. Tell anyone you hear repeating these LIES that they should be ashamed to advertise their ignorance by spreading such bullshit. Facts are not something that they get to invent. They have to live with the harsh reality that their party is dominated by simple-minded haters. If most of their heroes had lived 50 years ago, they would have worn sheets and burned crosses on people's lawns.

Rub their noses in it.

2. I just saw Frum on the Last Word
He was basically saying there's no link between the vitriol and crazy people doing crazy things.

God, I wish I could have been on the show. I would have pointed out the Hannity and O'Reily fan who shot up the UU church in Tennessee and the Beck fan who was on his way to shoot up the ACLU and the Tides Foundation in California.

Two direct links there, Mr. Frum.

Having said that, I don't think Palin's nuttiness was a direct influence on the shooter.

3. Source not ID'ed by the author of the piece and interviewer:
In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''
