Sheriff Dupnik is going to need bodyguards
Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 11:42 PM by salinen
Youtube comments of his interview by Megyn Kelly are over the top. The right wing is getting more violent. I think there is a chance that the level of crazy is about to explode. Thank you Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, Palin and Fox.

1. They only know two solutions for any possible situation, ever.
1. Cut taxes.
2. Kill.

2. Don't be silly. Violent rhetoric has nothing to do with violence.
But the interesting thing about violence is how strong the reaction can be.

10. Au Contraire! Studies show that even "normal" people can be encouraged to commit violence.
Studies by Stanley Milgram and Robert Altemeyer show that people who are considered psychologically "normal" can be persuaded to commit violence on people who are no threat to them just by the urging of those that they consider to be authority figures.

Actually, the excuse that this shooter was "crazy" is less relevant to his actions than the atmosphere of hate and violent rhetoric spewed by "authority" figures. Even a crazy person will not necessarily act out their animosity if their social environment frowns upon such activity.

7. Megyn Kelly IS a teabagger. I've watched her off and on enough to have understood her.
She looks like a bland blond but the words out of her mouth are often bitter and nasty. Don't look at her hair or lipstick. Watch her eyes. EVIL. Sorry to say it but she is MEAN.

8. ...and then the RW will complain that a public official would DARE...
to spend even one penny on bodyguards to protect his own life from the very monsters they have created.

They're incapable of thinking twice about anything.

12. The very fact that every time one of the RW mouthpieces singles someone out

we automatically (and quite poperly!) fear for their safety is evidence that at some level we all know that the RW rhetoric does lead to threats and even physical assaults against those who have been ranted about.

14. I just wish he'd start investigating and stop editorializing.
I want to know why this young man did what he did - not hear a bunch of asinine theories.

Start sheriffing sheriff.
