Broccoli and political violence
George Bush the elder once made an innocent remark about not caring for broccoli.

Soon after the quote some of America ’s schools stopped serving broccoli, and children all across the country began to protest their broccoli servings at family dinner tables. In fact, it was reported that broccoli sales dropped significantly in 1990, all because of the president’s personal dislike of it.

Clearly, some people react to what they hear on TV or radio.

When vitriolic, mean-spirited, irresponsible rantings are spewed by commentators and elected officials, clearly, some people react to what they hear on TV or radio.

1. And not just maybe on the weekend or a few hours a week, no.
We are talking about hardcore Rushlovers that listen 3 hours a day to their master. All that hate and nowhere to go.

6. Yes--Bush the first was certainly not intending to mess with the broccoli market
But wingers certainly want to intimidate liberals by constant bombardment of attack messages.

2. Why can't there at least be civil cases made
charging these people money for inciting violence?

5. Was listening to Norman Goldman this afternoon on that.
He says that such cases have to be very specific. If any of the anti-candidate lit had had home addresses in addition to a gunsight, that would be explicit. General non-specific threats are morally, but not usually legally, wrong.
