As most of us know, LE typically withholds some information from the public, including things only the actual killer would know. Such information may be included regarding Loughner.
Not only that, but they will also be very wary of increasing tensions between the political factions. I think there's enough evidence in the court of public opinion to put at least part of the blame, but we should not be surprised if LE treads very carefully regarding the issue.
LE shouldn't be political--but let's face it, damn near everything is anymore.
Edit: too much focus on one phrase here--not my intention, so I took it out.
