RogerAiles b Fox News chief tells GOP employees to tone it down

It appears that even the president of Fox News knows when rhetorical attacks have gone too far.

In a wide-ranging interview with Russell Simmons, Fox News's Roger Ailes remarked that he'd told his employees to "shut up, tone it down" and "make your argument intellectually."

You don't have to do it with bombast," he reportedly said.

In spite of the call for moderation, Ailes also defended Fox News employee Sarah Palin and her use of gun terminology in political discourse.

5. Ailes trying to cover his own ass.
His employees will have to remain silent if requested to tone down the rhetoric; they would be speechless if they had to kick out the only rhetoric they know.

6. Imagine this. Ailes walks out to the camera with Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity and they
pledge to bring civility to Fox News. Then Murdoch walks out and they all do a circle hand and thumb shake.

The morning crew and the blonds are all watching and crying - partly from relief of not having to say bad things about people and lie, but because they know it's the right thing to do for the country.

10. They're scared
More and more people are making the connection between their hate mongering and the AZ shootings.

One more incident like this will plant the idea in the minds of the majority of Americans - fox news is responsible for stirring up disturbed people who go on to commit violent acts.

They've started something that's gotten beyond their control and now they don't know what to do. If they back down they will lose face with their army of loons. If they don't and some other Democrat gets shot they will be toast. Eventually one of these shooters will drop a dime on them and then the shit will hit the fan.
