I hear that all bankers should be thrown in prison. But I don't know what he did wrong?

SunTrust is a medium sized bank - probably filled with criminals - help me out here.

3. As a "true progressive" I know I am supposed to want all bankers in prison
SunTrust has 30,000 employees?

How do I tell the criminals from the good people?

6. If you are a Christian, then you believe Jesus said, "Neither borrower nor lender be."

Was this another joke in the thread?

It seems to be full of them.

4. Duh. This is DU. He's a "bankster" and all banksters should go to prison for ever.
And anyone who says otherwise is a troll.

11. Thank you. I used to think the left was "reality based"
No longer.

Unhinged idiots call for round-ups and incarcerations of regular business people. This kind of madness is counter-productive for liberal policy and our last hope for consumer protection - the CPFB that Ms. Warren set up.

9. Two points:
1.) Jim Wells is retiring on Dec. 31 and has already stepped down from CEO, he's merely the current board-chairman through his retirement date. The new CEO is Bill Rogers.
2.) SunTrust is not a medium sized bank, it's the 7th largest bank-holding company in the country & a "Too big to fail" institution.

13. Good research. But he was CEO during the housing bubble so
therefore my original question - "Should Wells be in prison and why?"

15. The question remains, for what crime? For being a banker or a CEO?

17. there is no crime - that is my point. Matt Taibbi has his Idiot Brigade
yelling and shouting at fictitious zombies and vampires.

Are Suntrust, Wells, BB&T, or Zions Bank "criminal"?

Taibbi is a carnival barker - a Yellow Journalist who wants to profit by attacking the Obama Administration.

18. Just as I thought - not a single Bank Hater could indict my guy
yet they are sure 1000's of other bankers should be rounded up and convicted!

Its pure idiocy = straight out of the Twilight Zone. GET THEM!!!!!!!!! HANG THEM!!!!!

19. The banks and bankers should be judged according to the law.
Just like bank robbers and bank depositors.

Everybody equal before the law.

There shouldn't be any dispensation for bankers or for bank robbers.

20. Not all bank employees are criminals
Judge away. I spend all day making sure the laws are followed.

Frankly, it's insulting to imply that all people who work in banks are criminal. Most of us are honest and work damned hard to do the right thing for our customers and the law.

21. Nobody claims that all people who work in banks are criminals.
Obviously, we all trust the banks in which we do our business.

Stop just trying to make a controversy where none exists.

Some of the bankers are very dishonest.

22. Well as a socialist, I'm opposed to private banking institutions on principle.
Do I think he should be arrested? I don't know enough about his role in the crash to answer that. Do I think Suntrust and all other private banks should be nationalized? Hell Yes!
