Don't tell me this is not the ENTIRE problem in this country:
Edited on Tue Aug-16-11 08:10 PM by Sarah Ibarruri
The rich and corporations have bled this country dry through:

1) Free trade;
2) Paying no taxes; and,
3) Corrupt banking practices.

Listen to Dylan Ratigan, who has explained the problem and offered the solution.

Tell me if he left anything out. I don't think so.

1. Bless Dylan
I have been watching nim for a while now and he continues to make a lot of sense.

Who has the pwoer to make this happen?

Is it just sending 1000 tapes to Obama and so they say, "Gee, we'd beter see what people are so up in arms about."

Is that what we have to do to get the ball rolling??

2. I don't know. The fact that 'no one' is telling who caused all this, is tantamount to lying
At least it appears like a lie, in my opinion.

Maybe we need to do that, send 1000 tapes of Dylan saying this. Maybe that will cause him to tell the truth about all this.

3. Show me how Obama is not complicit in all three
Touting free trade on his bus tour, ignoring the Bush tax cut expiration, filling his staff with Wall Street insiders about covers it.

4. But The Blame Game Includes
those on welfare, the homeless, those on S.S.,medicare,medicaid,those dirty liberals, the tree huggers, the anti war brigrade. They have got many convinced that if we get rid of all these "liabilities" the country will bounce back. They have no idea that all these people ARE the country,it's breath and it's strength. You shed them and we will sink like a rock and the wealthy will take their money and run.

5. The international moneyed interests don't care about
this country or any other, for that matter. They have no allegiance to anything other than their profit margins. Acquisition of wealth and power is a blood sport with these people, and it's our blood being let.

17. Exactly. They wipe their big behinds with patriotism. However, their lackeys, the right wingers...
USE patriotism as a form of brainwashing to manipulate non-rich, ordinary people, and so far, non-rich ordinary people have been stupid enough to fall for it.

16. Well of course. By killing the rest of us, the mega-rich and corporations will be even richer!
And isn't that the point of the right wing (a point the Democrats are scared to go against lest they lose their political positions in Congress and the presidency?)

28. Yep. NY state may drop alot of teachers in the coming year: Goodbye growth
Who so they think buys houses and cars and services? Teachers and police and government workers are vital to local economies.
So, if we deplete the schools, we have a class system like England and only the rich get educated.

Everyone else is the slave labor work force.

None of this is an accident, or the fault of any one president or congress or union: This is the casino that we're all playing in and the house always wins.

We have to take our country back from the hands of multi national corporations, and have real election reform so they candidates aren't dependent on the multi nationals for re-election.

This is the part the founding fathers never imagined. This is who the tea party should be mad at, not regular tax paying middle class americans.

15. Well, that's a govt function that needs to be fixed.
And will be. However, what the mega-rich and corporations have been doing to suck the wealth out of this country is 'untouchable.' The Repukes want to keep it even if it kills off the country, and the Democrats are too wimpy and scared to piss off the mega-rich and corporations. It's very disappointing to me.

11. I like Ratigan a lot ...
I have for a while, even while a lot of folks here hated him.

I think he is mostly right at the core, and is truth telling on the problems.

I don't like that he does the "they are all the same" thing all time.

Dems are not great shakes, and there are some who are bought just the same, or enable it in some way.

But, they are NOT all the same.

The Rs are united, 100 percent in pushing this crape.

There ARE some Ds who push against it, and the majority of the party does not advance it. Enough to enable the Rs to drive the agenda even with a bit of a margin of power, but it still is not the equivilency of "they are all the same."

is merely going along with what the first side wants to do.

20. Then they are not "the same ..."
even if that were true ...

Look, I get it, the dems are not great.

But, even not being great, the Rs are 100 percent united, and absolutely driven to destory the country.

There IS a difference, and all the "they are all the same" crape does is mitigate the Rs responsibility, and in fact legitimize it.

24. The mega rich and corporations are absolutely behind the wars.
The wars may put our country into debt, but it is the banks who provide the borrowed money at interest and the corporations that arm every conflict who profit from the military industrial complex.

They are all part of the same animal. The wars are for profit, blood money.

get out of wars, why they want wars, etc.

Maybe there are some articles out there about those things.

30. concentration of wealth.
personally, i think the concentration of wealth explains most of our other problems, and it's the common denominator as to why they aren't getting fixed.

there's too much power at the top of the wealth spectrum and they're not letting go.

obama couldn't create a massive jobs program even if he wanted to because the ultra-rich don't want it and they have enough power and control to prevent it from ever seeing the light of day AND heavily punishing anyone who dares oppose them.

I'd only add:
4: Constantly telling people it's their god given right to waste or destroy as many resources as possible.
