Rush Limbaugh reacted to the instantly infamous mugshot of Jared Lee Loughner, the suspected gunman in the Arizona shooting, by saying that the reason Loughner is smiling in the picture is because he knows he is backed by the Democratic Party.

Speaking on his radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh said that Loughner was getting the exact attention that he wanted:

"What Mr. Loughner knows is that he has the full support of a major political party in this country. He's sitting there in jail. He knows what's going on, he knows that...the Democrat party is attempting to find anybody but him to blame. He knows if he plays his cards right, he's just a victim. He's the latest in a never-ending parade of victims brought about by the unfairness of America...this guy clearly understands he's getting all the attention and he understands he's got a political party doing everything it can, plus a local sheriff doing everything that they can to make sure he's not convicted of murder - but something lesser."

The majority of people here have minds of their own and use them on a regular basis. Of course, that's been the source of some real train wrecks on DU, especially in this forum...but that's what a good political discussion Website should be about.

It should never be about seeking out "leaders" like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Palin and the rest, and blindly following them off the cliff.

Murdered by a disturbed young man who either didn't or couldn't be reached in time to put him on another path, and if repukes have their way, even fewer mentally ill person would receive help, or have help available.

Logic has never been Limbaugh's strong point and it isn't required by the cretins who listen to him, but that's a stretch even for him.

Declaring Democrats to be in cahoots with a hated mass-murderer - how else can you interpret that? The only way to interpret that is by looking at the message beneath - "Democrats hang out with $HATED_GUY! Therefore, Democrats must be hated too!"

of the guy I saw in a restaurant a few years ago. He was at the next table, and in the middle of lunch he leaned over and relieved himself of the meal he'd just eaten. Like the perfectly sane people we are we turned away from the scene, stood up and walked away. (Just for the sake of I'm-not-a-cold hearted-jerk, the guy's a drunk and this isn't a new routine for him; we let his buddies deal with it.)

That said, it seems that Rush Limbaugh pukes into a microphone and dittoheads come running, with spoons.
