DU, its time to throw the HATE Talkers out of a job.

I'd like to introduce a pledge thread. I pledge not just to avoid the HATE talk on MSM or on the radio, I pledge to actively LAY OFF the HATE talkers. I pledge to tell people I have fired the HATE talkers from my life, from my family life and from any discussion anywhere at anytime. I won't let anyone bring the HATE talkers into my home, car or email box. Nada, nothing.

Putting the HATE talkers on ignore...

If you're with me, sign onto this thread and MEAN IT. No TV watching, no radio listening, no internet posting of them, no respond to editors, TV producers or in any way show involvement with the HATE talkers. No blog posts, tweets etc. Nothing. Dry up their carny show.

You know who they are. Go ahead, fire them. Come on, do it for a nine year old girl.

They often get their opinions into the MSM even if you avoid their main shows. Their talking points often ring through out the media. I'd love to know not reading Palins facebook page or tuning into Rushes radio show made me immune from their pointless opinion. However clearly its not enough. I can't avoid all media outlets, thus I don't know how to totally shut them off until the media learns they don't matter stop paying attention to them.

make the choice to recycle for the good of the earth, to dial back your thermostat to save on energy, to eat foods closer to your home for the sake of global energy and that you refuse to listen to HATE Talkers to preserve your peace of mind.

2. I'm in. I already delete/complain about the email and now I renounce

listening to any of the hate talkers on the radio (I'm an AM radio freak) - just music, progressive station, NPR, sports or news.

10. Ignoring them is what has helped get us to this point

Sadly, just ignoring them isn't going to do anything. We're not their intended audience, they couldn't care less if we ignored them. They know who their demographic is, they pander to them, they keep ratcheting up the violent rhetoric because their base eats it up.

I firmly believe that the best way to deal with hate is to expose it. Mainstream America needs to know just how far and dangerous these hatemongers are becoming. We need to shine the light of truth on them. These assholes thrive in the darkness, they feed off on each other, they know they can't win in a real debate. The more mainstream America knows about these hatemongers, the more ostracized they'll become. People need to know that we're not dealing with ordinary political rhetoric and propaganda here.

I never listened to them on the radio, I don't have cable and will never have it because I won't have TV broadcast into my home and I don't get email from them. Now, I do still get the occasional email from folks trying to increase the length of my non-existent penis

Here's a crazy idea: Call your local radio/TV stations and their local advertisers, and let them know that you will NOT buy One. Fucking. Product. from Any. Fucking. Business. that buys ads during the daily hate-fest. You can't just plug your ears without letting them know that they're going to lose money.
