"I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government...
The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control."
- Timothy McVeigh on why he bombed the Oklahoma City federal building

Yes, teabaggers (or people with their mentality) are terrorists, and this is proof

8. Tim McVeigh wasn't exposed to the POLITICAL RW climate..
but defintely the RW climate of the para-military and hate groups at the time.

PERHAPS egged on by the talk against Clinton....

It's just TODAY we can't tell the difference in The Chicago Anarchists Revolutionaries (made up for expediency)
and Glen Beck!

So yea, put the fringe back in the fringe.. and let mainstream march on.

6. No. Teabaggers aren't terrorists.
Edited on Tue Jan-11-11 07:42 PM by emulatorloo
A terrorist is someone who engages in political violence or conspires to commit acts of terrorism with others. Most teabaggers just go to a rally here and there, post hateful things on the internet, and say hateful things and make up signs with spelling errors and hateful photoshops.

Edited on Tue Jan-11-11 07:47 PM by emulatorloo
More important the Republican Politicians need to come out against that stuff. Especially now. (but I am not holding my breath)

But yelling dumb shit at a rally isn't terrorism

22. Yelling dumb crap at a PROTEST isn't terrorism
.. but yelling Dumb shit at a POLITICAL RALLY being held by POLITICAL leaders/wannabes, SHOULD BE CURTAILED at the onset.
(still not terrorism... but you dont let an unruley gang of kids yell at the neighbors from your yard either)

15. Yes, they fucking well are! The term “domestic terrorism” means activities that -
appear to be intended—
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sec_18_00002331----000-.html

I haven't forgotten the 'town-hall' meetings in the run-up to elections in '08 and the intimidation perpetrated by the teabaggers who shout down all dissenting opinion, nor have I forgotten the numerous accounts of voter harassment against African American college students and others, and I sure as hell WON'T forget the instances where these thugs show up at political rallies with sidearms displayed along with signs that are open calls for political assassination. You can defend these brownshirts until you're blue in the face, but I'll keep calling them terrorists as long as they keep behaving like terrorists.

18. OK, that was too much
but I refuse to minimize the threat I perceive from this group. If you persist in portraying these rabble as harmless, however, it can only be construed as 'defense' - especially when concrete examples of intimidation and coercion are presented.

25. Yes, I see your point. Those incidents indicate people on the edge with the
the potential to do greater violence. I'm still not ready to label every teabagger as a Tim McVeigh. Probably because my sister was a Hannity viewer. What she felt mostly was fear not anger.

.I appreciate you dialing back. And I do understand you completely and agree with much of what you said.

26. That is nothing more than a quote
and bombing the OKC federal building was only 'proof' that McVeigh was a "terrorist."

Such ridiculous assumptions and opinions are only "proof" that opinion trumps facts.
