Gabrielle Giffords' Arizona shooting prompts resignations
A nasty battle between factions of Legislative District 20 Republicans and fears that it could turn violent in the wake of what happened in Tucson on Saturday prompted District Chairman Anthony Miller and several others to resign.

Miller, a 43-year-old Ahwatukee Foothills resident and former campaign worker for U.S. Sen. John McCain, was re-elected to a second one-year term last month. He said constant verbal attacks after that election and Internet blog posts by some local members with Tea Party ties made him worry about his family's safety.

In an e-mail sent a few hours after Saturday's massacre in Tucson that killed six and injured 14, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Miller told state Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen he was quitting: "Today my wife of 20 yrs ask (sic) me do I think that my PCs (Precinct Committee members) will shoot at our home? So with this being said I am stepping down from LD20GOP Chairman...I will make a full statement on Monday."

Pullen was in Washington, D.C. and not available for comment, an employee in his office said. State party spokesman Matt Roberts said he could not discuss details of the district's disputes but, "Anthony has been a good Republican and was really involved in LD20."

Ok folks, language has no meaning and we are all making this up... to the point that REPUBLICANS are resigning from Party Offices... nope, nothing to see here.

1. I think that's what's called "The terrorists winning".
But I don't have enough proof yet, so I'll just sit in this corner and be quiet...

3. Don't have enough yet to say it
but this may be a Ft. Sumpter moment... egads. And in the modern sense it will be more bodies piling up, not gray and blue marching on a battlefield.

I fear that if my kafkaesque nightmares are coming to be... (This is a major development)... that soiree will be for the history books, and we will be busy with our own.

9. A master manipulator.
Maybe they trust people to figure things out on their own? That is a mistake, of course. Manipulating the public will always happen, may as well jump in to what's left of the vacuum.

Howard Dean comes sort of close, which is why he faced character assassination, IMO

13. If they wanted to start a real war, they could park a car bomb in front of his house.
And then seed the crime scene with left wing reading material after the bomb explodes killing everybody inside. Even if it came out later that the evidence was planted, prior to that certain people will react impulsively and attack leftists.
