Right-Wing Media Smear Moulitsas With Doctored Image

Right-wing media have promoted a doctored image that supposedly shows that Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas used the image of a bull's eye in connection with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). In fact, the original Daily Kos post did not contain an image of a bull's eye.

There's a right wing trope out there that says Daily Kos put a "bullseye" on Giffords, just as Palin did. For the record from Media Matters:

In a January 10 Daily Kos post, blogger Jed Lewison wrote that the Tea Party Express fundraising letter "actually goes so far as to suggest that a 2008 post written by Markos was somehow equivalent to Sarah Palin's use of the gunsight imagery and her exhortations to 'RELOAD" in the conservative battle against Democrats. Instead of linking to the actual post, the letter links to a photoshopped version, which ads an image of Rep. Giffords and a bullseye, neither of which were in the original post." Lewison links to the original Daily Kos post which indeed does not contain an image of Rep. Giffords with a bull's eye.

I think about what hope young people can have to carve out a viable existence amongst the police state, the banksters and that church of aggression we call a defense department. A judicial system that would send a man to prison for food while suggesting entire groups that misappropriated millions from hundreds of thousands has only done what its made to do. Under the corpatocracy's mantra, the profit motive is an absolute defense in this cold and dark age of means over merit.

I see that early image of him, the black and white one with the long hair when I let my thoughts venture to these events and how to interpret them. I see fear and dismay, a puzzlement suggesting his big questions are already not being answered. Whether he fell to a political diatribe or a secret government program or bonked his head when he was a baby or took anti depressants as a teen, the point is, he fell through what used to be cracks; cracks that have widened into gaps that promise to see more slip as the state of us keeps pace with the nation's foundation. While war is waged and Wall St rakes it in, our nation's young grown ups are desperate and frightened or have freeped out and gone all faith in fascism.

I am the mother of two young adults and I know that without a support network of friends and family, they could also fall prey to such easily criticized times fraught with an unnecessary and toxic disregard.

What's brave and free to home and land has been shoved from sight and the poser of propaganda driven consumerism is fixing to feast. Are you properly seasoned?

Not the person who ever should have been the spokesperson for liberals.

I attribute his bad judgement to the fact that he was a Republican until, well, no one seems to know. All I know is, he hates liberals so I don't know why the right has any problem with him.

He nearly lost his blog over a statement he made about the four contractors killed in Fallujah.

He used to work for Henry Hyde I think.

I never understood why people consider him to be a liberal. His views are far more right of center, which is why there are so few minorities and women on his blog.
