1. I've had intermittent power failures here, Boston south shore area
Had to reset cable modem and network switches several times already.

Today: Snow with a chance of thunderstorms early this morning... Then snow this afternoon. Areas of blowing snow. Snow may be heavy at times early this morning. Total snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches. Blustery. Near steady temperature around 30. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph...becoming northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph this afternoon. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

Tonight: Cloudy. Snow likely in the evening. Areas of blowing snow in the evening. Additional snow accumulation around an inch. Lows in the lower 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent.

National Weather Service forecast for Boston and Suffolk County. Last updated at 8:35 AM

4. Just shoveled more than 20 inches of snow northwest of Hartford
And one local news station said to expect a heavy band of snow locally within the next half hour. Thermos of coffee is ready in case of power outages.
