My guess on the signal/dog whistle Palin is sending |

I actually think it's not particularly a shout-out to anti-semitism (and she needs her rabidly pro-Israel base more than she needs her anti-semitic base). I think the point is for her to point out yet again her victimhood once she's rightly attacked for saying that. ("See? I apologize and the elites still attack me. There's no reasoning with these people" etc.)

1. Most pro-Israel people are anti-semitic. |
|
They need Israel as a state to fulfill Revelations in the Bible. But they hate Jewish people.

The "Let Israel Be So That God Can Kill Them" movement was stronger around the time of Israel's creation.
Only 20% of American Christians believe in rapture, and only a fraction of them believe in the physical destruction of the literal political state of Israel as part of it.

6. Yeah, I guess 'most' is overstating it. |

I actually only know of one in real life.
No less ugly, though.

3. It's easy to oversimplify that |
|
I mean, yes, there's a Dominionist pro-Israel movement that does want Israel to stay in existence so that Jesus can come back and kill them all, but Dominionism is only a very small part of fundamentalism, let alone of the American right as a whole. And actually even a lot of them in the 1980s went the way of the Turner Diaries and don't support Israel anymore. For the most part American fundamentalists believe the "special relationship with God" bit (the sentence I keep hearing is, "Oh, you're already starting much closer to God than I could ever get!", though with the hope that the person being talked to could be wooed into being a Messianic).

5. Not an apology to accuse people of lying about her |
|
She also still doesn't get it. Why did she say such comments as made about her once were answered with dueling pistols? She might as well have slapped the left across the face with a mukluk!
