How many people felt *afraid* to put McCain/Palin stickers on their cars?
... and how many worried about their Obama stickers? Or were so worried they didn't even put one on their car?

Both sides are not the same. One side is willing to use physical intimidation and one is not.

5. The only time I was ever "afraid" of a bumper sticker on my car was when
I had a Dean for America sticker and a car almost ran us off the road.

11. Dawg, You'd Be SUrprised how much BS these RW Losers have been fed
I had one religious right wing fanatic for a co-worker and he had to tell me his friend from down south was too afraid to visit him in Massachusetts. Yeah, right wingers are in danger up in New England... these people are stupid and crazy. They believe everything they are told by right wing leaders.

16. I was afraid to add the sticker here in Texas.
Not just about vandalism from citizens, but harassment by police officers or highway patrol.

Maybe we should consider that in some states, half of the people without political stickers are probably Democrats.

17. I've had this on my mind
I wonder if our elected officials even know that this goes on, that the intimidation is at street level for voters & volunteers. That we have to live next to or work with these lunatics on a daily basis.

18. We Live In A World Of Extreme Right Wing Manchurian Candidates......
they get ginned up by Fox News, Rush, Beck, Hannity, Palin, Angle, et al who plant all this hatred in their heads - then these same so-called talking heads just sit back and wait for something to set their Manchurian Candidates off. This is really cynical and sick and someone has got to put a stop to it before this escalates out of control.

21. I work in construction
I KNEW when I placed my Obama sticker on my car what I would be facing. I did cringe when the comments started, and the questioning of my choice. This is a Union trade we are talking about here.
But I have basically lived my life knowingly and unknowingly against the grain so to speak, so I dealt with it. I was fed up enough with 8 yrs of **** to not give a rats ass anymore. I did fear for my job. My foreman at the time said to me he would NEVER vote for a (you know what) ever. After that statement he shook his head in disgust at me.

26. I remember watching Palin with her "pallin around with
terrorists" speech and watching the crowd actually yelling with blood-lust to kill Obama etc...I said to no one in the room (I was alone) that she was inciting violence and couldn't understand how what she was saying was even legal...or why Obama didn't file a law-suit for liable. Her speeches were way beyond free-speech and Obama should have forced her to back up her statements.

27. first time ever i put kerry sticker on, very red texas. i was concerned.
my whole family had concern, with me putting a kerry sticker. it was cool. didn't have a tough time at all. after the election, i had so much fun with that sticker i put 11 on my car. all relatively nice, considerate. peace, love. think. i had a number of stickers that implied thinking was a good thing. my car became known thru out town. i had one older man get out of car at the intersection, rap on window and tell me he loved my stickers. scared me first

after the 2006 election, the day after and a couple days after that, i had three incidents when young white males were aggressive in behavior and driving with me.

became concerned for safety of my kids and took them all off.
