Interesting information turns up in investigation of Police Chief.

Can't help seeing something familiar about the way this police department operated. By the way, Windermere is where Tiger Woods lives.

FDLE investigators this morning announced the arrest of Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor on felony charges.

Investigators said 44-year-old Saylor is charged with one count of giving unlawful compensation for official behavior and one count of official misconduct.

Windermere came under the spotlight after Tiger Woods, its most popular resident, crashed his SUV inside the nearby gated Isleworth community in November.

The glare of the ensuing international media attention not only exposed Woods' secret life, but it shined unprecedented attention on a tiny police agency that patrols the richest town in Central Florida.

Nearly half the agency's officers, including Saylor, took jobs in Windermere after resigning from other agencies while under investigation.

5. They're going into further details.
Astounding information about interfering with a child abuse case:

Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor terminatined an investigation by his department into the sexual battery of a child to keep a friend from going to jail, FDLE officials said this afternoon.

Saylor, 44, has been arrested on two felony charges - one count of giving unlawful compensation for official behavior and one count of official misconduct.

The friend, 50-year-old Scott Bush, also of Windermere, was arrested today of capital sexual battery of a person under 12 and sexual touching of a person under 12 years of age. Those charges carry a possible sentence of life in prison, if he is convicted.

Windermere named Saylor Chief of Police in 2002.
