18 Peace and Justice Groups in Tucson at UMC - M$M ignored us

Some 18 members of Tucson Peace and Justice groups representing a wide sampling of opinion and viewpoints gave a press conference at the University Medical Center yesterday at noon in front of the University Medical Center.

We provided 18 answers and explanations to Mass Media's rhetorical "questions"; How could this happen? Why did this happen? What can we do about this kind of thing?

Were were surrounded by tens of millions of dollars of worldwide media equipment, satellite links, reporters, camera people, etc.

Not one of them gave us a glance...

I'm in despair at the micro of the macro.

I've never seen so much media in my life.

There was NOTHING going on at the hospital -- the 10AM press conference had already gone off. There were lights, cameras, trucks, personnel and "reporters" in profusion -- sitting around, munching on cheetos and soft drinks...

But they had evidently not received orders from their corporate masters and therefore ignored the Press Conference...
