Conservatives KNOW words matter.
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 02:17 PM by DenverDad
I don't know if this has been brought up. It may not even be relevant, but conservative groups have been banning books for decades because they might give people IDEAS.

Conservative groups have been condemning a variety of music styles and video games because people might get IDEAS.

Conservative groups have tried to censor fictional television characters from Bart Simpson to Al Bundy for similar reasons.

Ignoring, for a moment, that they want to suppress ideas and creativity, isn't that an admission that words do matter, and those that put ideas out to millions of people bear a certain responsibility for where those ideas are taken.

"Brave New World is dangerous, but to blame Sarah, Rush and our guns is preposterous and silly."?

2. Great point, but bad title. re: "I don't know if this has been brought up"
It bugs me when a thread title has absolutely nothing to do with the thread itself.
