Looks like Sarah Palin got her wish today after her "blood libel" statement...
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 04:30 PM by cynatnite
Attention is now on her.

Corporate media is like a puppy dog that gets distracted by a ball.

on edit: I'm saying she chose the term intentionally in order to get the attention on her. They're talking about her, they're playing that videotaped statement over and over again, and they're focused on her more so than the tragedy.

It's ME ME ME ME ME.

She used the term "blood libel" in order to get the attention on her...
That's why it was intentional. Palin is all about ME ME ME ME.

11. Yep
You don't shut up, I am going to go Postal.

Very manipulating words. She knows exactly what she is doing, and to underestimate her will be our biggest mistake.

6. She got the attention...that's her intent, IMO....

She'll never walk back those words because she'd lose the attention on her.

4. It is as they planned

Focus attention on her, let her take some heat, give her the opportunity thereby to mold the message, do the framing and deflect the media away from the martyrs. Oh, and work her street cred in for her peeps... "If the Jews hate her, well, she's my kind of gal..."

We live in a world of professional image and media consultants. Never forget that.

'Andrea Stone at AOL News wraps up Jewish reaction (pretty much everyone calls it totally insensitive) but she also points out that Palin was no original thinker on this.

Commentator Andrew Breitbart used the term in a tweet Tuesday, writing, "And to the gutless GOP establishment who watches in silence the blood libel against @SarahPalinUSA. We will remember. #TeaParty".

5. You may be right..
Her speech may take away from Obama's speech in Arizona, and if so, then the Republicans will have to raise that Mission Accomplished sign again.

9. In a more perfect world, after Obama's speech, the media would point out the contrast
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 04:36 PM by onenote
between his speech, which I anticipate will focus on the victims and their families, and her speech, which was all about her. In a more perfect world, someone in the media might even point out that when Sarah was running around accusing the President of wanting to create "death panels," no one -- not the President, not the media, not anyone -- used the term "blood libel" to characterize her lies.

Of course, that would be in a more perfect world
