4. How to teach Obama a lesson, from his base.
All progressives should vow to boycott his Thursday speech. I'd rather watch the game anyhow.

11. Say hello to President Goodhair.
Because that's what's going to happen if Obama keeps giving in to the Repukes. Dammit, why doesn't he just stand his ground for once? :banghead:

13. Obama speech
Far better to follow the 'debate' than to precede it and have the Republican candidates spend the entire 'debate' belittling whatever the President has to say. Instead he can use the 'debate' issues in his address to the Joint Session.

17. If he wasn't willing to stick to his guns, why did he schedule it on Wednesday ...
It makes him look weak and only reinforces the view that he isn't much of a leader.

Thursday is a terrible choice as he will be up against the NFL and the Packers vs the Saints. If this game is not televised or is delayed, football fans will be furious. If it is televised as scheduled, football fans will be watching the game not Obama.

Next thing you know, he will move the speech to Friday. Nobody will be watching as it's the beginning of the weekend. He should have decided on Monday or Tuesday to begin with.

He needs some new advisers.

:banghead:

18. Cool. Now I can watch "The Wannabes" on Wednesday and the President on Thursday.
Edited on Wed Aug-31-11 09:03 PM by Major Hogwash
"The Wannabes", the new fall pilot comedy special airs next week on NBC that highlights just what will happen when a whacky, cranky old man named Ron, takes in a new young roommate named Rick.
Ron owns a dog, but Rick thinks there are some shenanigans going on between Ron and his dog.

The hijinks really begin to take off when their neighbor, Newt, leans over the fence to tell them that he used to do what they do now, but he did it better back when he was working for a living.
Then meet Mitt, the ever present nice guy, wearing a plastic parade queen smile and helmet hair, who is sure to tickle everyone's funny bones when he explains his views on science while compromising his own religion.
Not to be outdone, newcomer to the block, another guy named Rick, says that science only belongs in school, and school only belongs at home, and home is where the kids all learn about Jesus.

Their colleague, Michelle, drops by a little too often in Ron's opinion.
But she adds zest and zeal to the zany cast as the hilarity builds when she tells them that gawd has punished her and sent her to hang out with them at Ron and Rick's new home. But, what she's really doing is hiding out from her old foe, Sarah, who makes a guest appearence parked outside of the house in a bus.

Several other walk-throughs are performed by other cast members whose names will be forgotten as soon as the credits scroll off the bottom of the screen. One of them will remind everyone of their favorite shop teacher from high school, the one who didn't take a bath regularly because it was "the manly thing to do" in his day.

Ha ha ha.

22. After Eric called Obama's bluff we should probably have been expecting more of the same.
One of these days Obama is going to have to push back and be willing to hold his ground. Voters have a habit of rejecting presidents they regard as weak.

23. Bullshit, he didn't cave, he played them...

... Boner is stopping him from speaking to the country

He's proven again that the 'thugs are so obstructive that he can't schedule a speech to the country without the GOP being obstructive.

He played their ass, the President takes the High Road, moves the speech..

He
Did
Not
Cave

He played their ass. Perfectly.
