That means 131,000,000 potential 2012 voters will decide based on appearance and spin whether or not Obama caved to Boner.

It will NOT be a big deal to them. But they WILL see it as a cave-in. And because of that, he will be diminished just that much more.

Rationalize all you want. Shout from a bell tower that he didn't have the votes. Make all the excuses you can think of. But this will be seen as a cave and just one more thing to take him down a slight amount more.

on edit: I changed a word that might have been taken by some as offensive.

1. Wow talk about spin!
So let me see now, you can read the minds of 131,000,000 people, and you KNOW they WILL see this as a cave-in!? Amazing, simply amazing!

2. Your numbers are wrong. As is your viewpoint.

132,000,000 people voted in ALL for President in 2008. 53% of them for Obama.

Secondly... exactly what would "standing up to them" have looked like here? He can't MAKE congress hold a session.

You want a dictator, not a President.

And you're smart enough to know better, Stinky.

7. You're right about my error. I fixed it. Thanks
He chose the fight. He's the one who looks bad. I stand by my conclusion. You know what I meant by it. I'm not reading anybody's mind.

Or remember.

4. Sorry, I think they'll see it as a glorious victory for Obama
He's only the President of the United States. Even getting a man of Boehner's stature to agree to an audience at all is an accomplishment.

5. Your entire premise is flawed.
As is your still-born career as a prognosticator.

6. Your million number is
ridiculous. There are more than a million people who listen to limpballs every day. People who don't follow politics, but who vote, usually converse with centers of influence who they know and decide based on the opinions of people who do follow politics.

8. I don't term either of those examples "following closely"
If one follows an opinion leader, only the opinion leader is following politics closely.

Name 5 Limpballeans who have had an original thought in the month of August.

9. People who listen to him regularly by definition follow politics..
There are multiple millions who campaign for various candidates during each election cycle. The million number is demonstrably erroneous.

10. Every person I know (Dems) 1) aren't even aware of the
conflict/rescheduling, and 2) aren't aware of a third of what we are.

All they know is that they have a job or they don't, that they're doing okay with their bills or they aren't. Those will be the deciding factors in 2012. Even then, they'll still vote for Obama regardless because he's the Democrat.

DU is NOT The American People.

11. Probably 10-15 million pay close attention to politics.
But regardless of that number 99% of the rest do not know this dispute even occurred.
