Don't draw attention away from your opponent when they are
busy falling in their own excrement.

Or something like that.

Here's how this played:

The 'debate' was scheduled.

Obama needs to give a speech, and wants the most bang for the buck.

He has a scheduling 'error' and asks the Squeeker if he can come over and play on the seventh.

Boner sez nope - my peeps are all on the teevee so you have to do it on the Eighth.

Perfect.

Now Obama gets to give his major jobs speech the night after the clown car unpacks on the 7th........

He will look mighty presidential after all the sick fucks do their impression of "The Aristioctrats" on the 7th.

And Boner TOLD him to do it the night after the debate. Right??

1. ...and with a big audience waiting for the football game (which is being delayed for the speech)

Bigger bang for the buck.

10. A Texas Bullseye is when you fire a bullet,
draw a circle around the bullet hole and then brag about your marksmanship abilities.

The political equivalent is: Get a result, develop a "Grand Strategy" to obtain the result and brag about how much of a political genius you are.

12. in the case of the Democrats, the equivalent seems to be figure out how to agree with the GOP
and make it look like you put up a fight first, which was especially hard when they had a supermajority in the Senate and controlled the House too.

5. it wasn't even a conflict: there will be zero overlap in potential audience for the speech and GOP
debate.

8. there is no cave
Just repugs being extremely rude and disrespectful. Making them look bad is all that does. I am no Obama follower, but he had to have seen this coming.
