I'm trying to imagine Speaker of House McCormick telling LBJ to schedule his speech on another day |
|
Yes, I realize that the Speaker schedules when events in the house take place, but both houses are in session on the 7th and unemployment is a national problem that should be priority #1. The fact that he overrules Obama's request for Wednesday night and instead schedules Thursday just speaks volumes to me about how the Republican congress has treated Obama and how Obama continues to take it time after time with no complaint.
Oh well...at least the GOP debate at the Reagan Library won't have to be postponed!!

30. I agree and it showed the white south for the |
|
prejudiced bigots they were and are. Of course they hated having their true colors show, fled the party and are now all pukes who have no shame. Racism is institutional in this country. And the south is only a few generations from actual slavery. It is probably great great grandparents who were slaves during the civil war.

I somehow have a feeling you would be lynched within 24 hours. The world is not black and white. The subtle shades of gray filter all around. Be his spine if you will. Stand up to the bully whites. Call Boner and tell him what an ass he is. You can do it! Go! Vent that anger and while you're at it call Can't/won'ter and tell him what an ass he is! Please. They just think I'm a crazy old white lady because I call so much. We need your voice. Big booming white man voice. Here's the number Phone: (202) 225-0600 Fax: (202) 225-5117
Let me know what you said, okay? :patriot:

Were you alive/coherent during Clinton's presidency? You said the reason is SOLELY because he's black, and that dog won't hunt, sweetie-pie, a total show of ignorance or perpspective.
Keep screaming it's ONLY racism, and while racism is partly to blame, saying it's the ONLY thing is a lame, lame argument and world viewpoint. The real problem is Obama has absolutely no spine and they push him around BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY CAN.

put forth in order to avoid having to confront the truth - that Obama has no backbone and no wish or talent for confrontation. "It's 16 dimensional chess"; "He's playing rope-a-dope"; "He's just above this small stuff", etc. etc. etc. The unfortunate reality is that it's not because he's black, or any of the other things. It's because he is the Invertebrate-in-Chief.

in the House and Senate and, during that time, cultivated vital friendships and alliances. Obama had only 2 years in the Senate and, as such, did not have time to cultivate those same types of alliances. Translation: He has NO power in either House which is one of the reasons he's being B***-slapped so badly. The Party Bosses saw Obama's lack of experience as a GOOD thing because there was very little record to scrutinize, unlike Hillary Clinton. But, as we've seen, such short-sighted policies failed to foresee his weakness with the Legislative Branches AND the geniuses within the Democratic Party never foresaw the results of the 2010 election which has made the situation 1,000 times worse. And these geniuses are the people currently in charge of the Democratic Party.

I agree about this and short sighted vision. Pukes have always taken the long view. The Democratic Party is filled with activists who have not stomach for procedure. They want action and although they may be smarter than conservatives, they focus on this election cycle and long term strategy. And the geniuses did foresee 2010 and said, ah, that will be a good thing. Sort of like Nadir saying that we need to crash to show everyone how bad they are and him fucking 2000.

|
who after 20+ years in the House knew exactly which buttons to push, how everything worked and the weaknesses and strengths of virtually all the members of the House and probably a lot of the Senators as well. In the 20th Century, probably only FDR was a better politician at working the system.

He has more experience that Lincoln. More experience than Michele Bachmann, and more experience than Sarah Palin.
So, you're falling for the ReTHUG fallacy that he has no experience?

24. 11 years in the STATE legislature |
|
and only 2 years in the Senate does not 24 years in the House AND the Senate make. Do you really, honestly, think progressives sit here and read Republican talking points and duplicate them on DU? Really? Because if you do I think it would benefit you to take a few steps back and re-consider and perhaps question yourself as to whether this POV has any basis in reality or is just an expedient excuse to support the D president, regardless of policies and actions.
