http://cnx.com/?p=1497Christine O’Donnell put out a book. So did I.
She’s sold 2,200 copies. I’ve sold 85.
Of course, she has some benefits, like the fact that 1,500 of those copies were bought in bulk by her “supporters.” Also the fact that she’s more famous than I, having been on TV regularly for over a year. And whatever evil occult powers her non-witch status grants her.
Me? I’m just a cartoonist with a daily readership of about 10,000. I have a much lower profile than Christine O’Donnell.
So wouldn’t it be a kick in the rubber parts if I, a nobody, could actually outsell Christine O’Donnell?
Here’s my goal: by the end of September I want to have sales of my novel,
Go To Hell, surpass sales of Christine O’Donnell’s
Troublemaker: Let’s Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again. I don’t need to double or triple her sales (although I would love to do so), just have sold at least one more copy than she has.
I do have one benefit in this effort: my book is considerably cheaper than hers. List price for O’Donnell’s book is $25.99 in hardcover, while mine is only $18.99 in hardcover. Better yet, I’m available in paperback for $8.99, while she isn’t. Also, her book costs $12.99 for the Kindle, while all electronic editions of mine are only $2.99.
So here’s how it works: go to
GoToHellNovel.com and buy a copy (or more) of my book. If you have an E-reader other than a Kindle or Nook, you can get the book in the more esoteric formats at
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/63141">SmashWords, or in the iBooks Store on your iPad. There are lots of ways to get it, and they’re all cheap.
Then, once you’ve purchased it, start spreading the word. Tell everyone you know that the best way to tell Christine O’Donnell to go shove her broomstick up her PAC is to go buy my book and, in just one month, have this little nobody author surpass her in book sales.
Do it for the children.
