Kucinich trying to help Gaddafi stay in power?

This should go well. I wonder what his thinking on this was.

Al Jazeera has uncovered evidence that influential Americans have been trying to help Gaddafi cling to power. The officials involved are a member of the Congress (Dennis Kucinich) and a former ambassador. The documents were found in the offices of Libyan intelligence building, which was abandoned as Libyan fighters took over Tripoli.

best post from that thread, imho:

Here is the Kucinich thing in a nut-shell: Person A calls person B and informs them they have some information about group C. Person B replies, "Send me the info, and I will read it!"

6. The video said something very different
DK requested specific information on various topics from the regime in order to defend them in congress.

supposedly he wanted any evidence of corruption at the Libyan National Transitional Council, any possible links within rebel ranks to al-Qaeda, any evidence "that The Leader had already planned to step down before the uprisings" , information to defend the actions of ghaddafis son in the International Criminal Court, and to repair the regimes image.

9. DK is anti-war and a non-intervention person
true to his core as consistent as he ever was. Not so long ago in my memory banks, the GD forum was laden with anti-war topics left and right for years. Now for some reason that has remarkably changed. How intriguing that a D next to the name of the President changes the entire philosophy of a site. Where are the protests for the illegal holding of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay? Where is the threads about the highest causality rates ever in Afghanistan? Where are the cries to quit the military industrial complex from starting more wars for corporate profit? My, things have certainly changed.

12. Good God, why?
Why would anyone go to the trouble of framing Denny Kucinich? I get that he Speaks "Truth" To Power, but he's really just our Rand Paul, without the financing or following. I can't imagine anyone bothering to spend time and effort discrediting him; given his utterly marginal standing, what could possibly be gained from such an effort?
