Once again, President Obama has capitulated to the Neocons when no capitulation was needed. All Boehner has to do is stomp his petulant little feet and waive his tear-stained hankie and Obama gives in to the toddler tantrum.

This time, Bohener had his tightie whities in a twist because the President’s major prime time speech on his new jobs program coincided with the scheduled Republican debate. Obama should’ve borrowed a page from the GOP playbook and replied with some version of “kiss my ass,” but no. That wouldn’t be playing nice and reaching out and yada yada yada. (Can you imagine Bush the First or Dim Son changing the date for the Democrats??)

So now Obama has moved aside for the Neocons and his speech no longer conflicts with their dog-and-pony show. But it DOES conflict with the season-opening game of the NFL. Lovely. Seems Obama would rather scrimmage with the linebackers than stand up to the Teabaggers. Not a good sign.

And Dick Cheney’s book, while revealing little new, does show how willing he was to let the US auto industry die rather than save them. Brian Dickerson for the Detroit Free Press writes:

“Why should it surprise anyone in Michigan to learn that Cheney, upon learning that two of the Detroit Three automakers were at the threshold of insolvency, advised the president to let them die? When in his professional life did the cowboy vice president ever meet a limping horse he did not wish to shoot on the spot? Bush did not want to be the president on whose watch the American automobile industry had gone under. One gets the impression that Cheney, on the other hand, would have taken perverse pride in mounting the grille of a Chevy Silverado on the wall of his den alongside the heads of other creatures he had blasted into the hereafter.”

Excellent point. Read the rest of the article – Cheney Hates Everyone.But he sure loves torture, war, and killing.

Speaking of war crimes, a new Wikileaks release reveals a cover-up attempt of a 2006 massacre of Iraq civilians, including 5 children under the age of five, who were handcuffed and shot in the head by US troops. Just another red-letter day in Cheneyworld.
